No ... Seriously ... Where Can I Park Bumblebee?

Its official! I won the 76 Camaro that I was bidding on this morning! Now all I need to do is drive my ass all the way up to NH to pick up the car and figure out what the hell Im going to do with this thing. Paint and body work are going to be first. I want to get the outside of the car looking as much like Bumblebee as soon as possible. Then I will focus on cleaning up the mechanical end of the car. From what the auction said the car runs great, so hopefully I wont have to do much there. The interior is going to be the hardest and most expensive part, but I can get away with letting that go for a while. The interior of the car looks old and beat up enough to fly for the look we are going for. Man I cant wait to get started on this project.

"A Bunch Of Morons Who Volunteered To Jump Out Of A Perfectly Good Airplane"

Its been a while since I've seen Brian ... probably a month or so. We decided we were gonna get together in July to jump out of an airplane. Im not really sure what gave him the idea, but he had it, and then he asked me to go along. What was I going to do? Say "No, Brian, I can't jump out of an airplane with you ... Im too scared" I dont think so ... Ive done this before and I damn well can do it again. So yeah, I jumped out of a plane because Im a bit too competitive. Phillys pride was on the line here ... it was NYC vs Philly and I was the only representative. You damn well better believe Im gonna be there. So Brian has this whole thing all planned out for July 21st. Which is good, because I live in South Jersey and I have no idea where to go skydiving in NY. The place is like 37 hours away from where I live. Its in the middle of no where ... and I mean no where. The only things around were mountains and Neko Sushi ... which looked really good actually.

So we get to this place called "The Ranch" and I meet up with Brian and all of his friends. We check in, do our thing, I set Brian up with the harness girl by demonstrating that he is a leader of men, then we go outside to our plane. Now my instructor (who by the way is named "Batman") is running a bit late, so Im one of the last ones to get on the plane, which also means that Im gonna be one of the first ones to get off the plane ... woohoo ...

At this point in time, Im not really that nervous ... not yet. When the plane takes off ... Im nervous. Not super crazy nervous, but nervous. You could definately tell that everyone was thinking about what we were about to do because the plane got really quiet, really quick. Justin and I shoot to see who gets the honor of jumping first ... I lose. Oh Im soooooo upset lol. There are a few other skydivers in the plane that arent with our group. They actually jump first, but they are all singles and apparently have done this before. Justin goes and I get to see him plummet to the ground. Okay, this is real now. Im standing in the door. I give my camera man a quick thumbs up and try to focus on keeping my head up and my hips arched. I was focusing so much on what I needed to do to get out of the plane that I almost forgot to be nervous ... almost.

So Im out of the plane. That was easy enough ... hell I can actually say I wasnt that scared. It was the same the first time I jumped too ... now all I have to do is fall about 7,000 feet in about 60 seconds, pull my chute and land safely on the ground. Piece of cake ... so I'll take you through my thought process a bit.

"Okay, Im out of the plane ... theres the ground ... Im falling really fast ... what the hell was I supposed to do again ... dammit Rory ... you said I was gonna forget everything and you were right ... hey theres my camera man ... WoooooHoooooo .... theres the ground again ... this is fun ... WooooooooHoooooo ... WooooooHoooooo ... why is this guy tapping on my hand ... oh crap I need to pull my chute ... thats why hes tapping on my hand ... hey the chute opened ... man Ive got a killer wedgie ... WooooooooHoooooooo!

Yeah that about sums it up. The landing was fun, its amazing how quiet it gets when you pull your chute. Its so chaotic when you jump and then all of a sudden everything gets quiet. Its really cool. All I can say is that once its over, you act like you are high on something. All you do when you hit the ground is go "Man ... that was awesome ... man ... WoooooHooooo ... Dude ... that was awesome ... dude I just jumped out of a plane ... man ... WooooooHooooo!" You completely discard sentences from your gramatical structure. Thats okay though, cause you just jumped out of a friggin plane.

So long story short, we all have a couple of beers, Brian hits on the harness girl some more, and totally does a good job and then we drive back to NYC and Im off to South Jersey yet again. It was a great day and Im really glad I did it. Cant wait for the next crazy adventure.

Peace!

Where Can I Park Bumblebee?

Okay, so Ive decided Im going to build my own Bumblebee ... the movie car just sold on Ebay for $40,000.00. I figure that I can make one for about $10,000.00 ... probably cheaper. Im actually bidding on a 76 Camaro right now. I will know in the morning if I won the car or not. This is going to be a fun project and I cant wait to get started. Ive managed to find a lot of the parts they used in the movie car, and we're trying to get in touch with the guy who actually supervised the production of the cars for the movie. Im really looking forward to getting started ... now all I have to figure out is where the hell Im gonna park Bumblebee?

Transformers

This movie was awesome. Thats all I can really say. It was awesome. People have been bitching left and right about all of the changes that Michael Bay made. I say to hell with all of that. This is a Transformers movie, but it doesnt have to be a direct port of the original cartoon. The films works, and thats what matters. Bumblebee is awesome as a camaro, Prime rocks with the flame paint scheme and megatron is still cool as a giant alien jet. It was 144 minutes of pure fun. While not heavy on plot, it was loaded with action and giant robots duking it out in the city and blowing the crap out of everything. The whole "mustang vs camaro" chase scene was a nice touch too, gotta love that. Im completely thinking about buying a new camaro now, so the product placement totally did its job. The only condition that I have is that it has Bumblebees paint scheme. Ive already got a way to make him talk, since he talks through the radio, it shouldnt be hard to burn some kind of audio cd that has a few saying from the movie that I can play at random ... now the whole getting him to drive by himself and transform into a giant robot, that might be tricky. Think that would kill my chances with the ladies? Haha ... the movie rocks, and I want a camaro that looks like Bumblebee ... lets see BMW M3 or Camaro with yellow and black paint scheme to resemble my favorite autobot? Tough choice ...

Peace!

Casino Winnings

Okay so last weekend I went over to the Hilton. I lost $250.00 which put me down to a grand total of +$1,000.00. I can live with that. Im up $1,000.00 on the house, always a good thing.

Today I went over to the Trop and started with $300.00. I left with $500.00, so $200.00 in winnings. Not bad. The table was really rough too, so Im pretty damn happy with that. That brings my grand total back up to +$1,200.00. We shall see how I do tomorrow. Its the 4th though, so it might be a real pain in the ass to get a table.

FR: My Trip to NYC

Okay, so its been a while, heres the breakdown from my trip to NYC which happened a few weekends ago.

So the idea was to meet up with a few of the guys that took a bootcamp with me. It ended up only being three of us, but hey, thats not too bad. So I stroll into NYC at around 9ish, catch a shower and meet up with Brian at the Ganesvoort Hotel. Its a pretty cool place that has a bar up on the top floor. Its got a great outdoor area and a ton of places to move girls, sit down, you name it. So we start out just catching up, its been a while since we've seen each other, but after that we decide its time to get to work. Brian sees a set and heads over to it, I work my way to a group of seven that turns out to be a bridal party (I cant get away from them), the set goes okay. I open with "Herman," general conversation ensues and I keep things going for about 5 minutes then politely leave on a positive note. First one down, that makes life easier. I find Brian in set with two 40 year olds (yeah care to explain that one man?) so I grab my beer and get the hell outta dodge. I walk over to the railing to check out the fantastic view and on my way I notice a 2 set sitting down. I actually had walked past before it clicked that it was a perfect set to open, so I check out the view, then turn around and open with "Herman" (yeah that was my stock opener for the night) The set hooks, I sit down and were off. My target is this cute little Italian chick though her blonde friend isnt bad either. Everything is going well, Brian jumps in and starts winging. Looks like this is going to be a decent set. Brian is doing really well with the blonde, but I seemed to have lost mine somewhere in comfort. I totally need to work on my comfort game, its not up to par. He number closes, the set leaves, I get nothing. Oh well, it went pretty well and I totally did all the hard work anyway. One of the other guys from the bootcamp, Jarret, links up with us and more catching up ensues. We hit a few more sets that go pretty well until ...

So I open this 4 set, things dont go so well, but thats okay because some random girl (probably a 6) comes over and opens me. Shes hanging out with some Mystery look-a-like so I pull her over to the bar to get a drink. I tried to get her to buy me a drink, didnt work, so oh well, she wasnt that hot anyway. While Im holding my money out to get a drink the girl next to me offers to flag the bartender down for me. Sweet, I get my drink and shes kinda cute ... maybe an 8. I start engaging the group, it turned out to be a 3 set, and things go pretty well. Brian hops in to wing and starts talking to the really drunk friend ... correction, the really really really drunk friend. I move the set over to a quiet (haha or so I thought) table and proceed to run some standard stuff. I used the question game, and a bunch of general banter and my target (HB8 with glasses so just HBGlasses) seems to be eating it up. Brian almost gets us into a fight over a bottle of Vodka, the girls get up to go to the bathroom so I head over to Jarret and Brian. After about ten or so minutes I saw the girls walking around looking for me, so I walk over, act like I just noticed them and then say Im going to the bar, you guys have to join me. The group follows and Im getting really good signals from HBGlasses. The drunk friend takes a million pictures, the other girl pulls her away and tells my target that she'll meet her downstairs. I run "almost kiss" which works great and then bounce downstairs. The whole group hits up McDonalds, drunk friend gets pissy and well the night went south from there, but I was this close to my first LR and ONS since bootcamp. Oh well ... better luck next time eh?
